Nodira Kholmatova
Nodira is a Post-Doctoral Researcher on the Reintegrate project leading the research on the case of Serbia. She is a sociologist and holds a Ph.D. in Political and Social Sciences from the European University Institute in Italy. She researches return migration and reintegration processes in Central Asia. More specifically, she focuses on the lived experiences of the migrants at the intersection of gender and migration. Her recent publications focus on female return migration and reintegration, family migration, and global visa regimes. She holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Sociology from a Joint Program in International Migration and Social Cohesion (MISOCO) from the University of Amsterdam (Netherlands), University of Deusto (Basque Country, Spain), and University of Osnabruck (Germany). She also holds a BA in Sociology from the American University of Central Asia (Kyrgyzstan).
